Triangle Square and The Keg – until the end of May – Potential sound bleed

There are 2 new garbage compactors being installed. One near Triangle Square and one near The Keg. The work is anticipated to be finished by the end of May. There will be a level of noise happening in relation to this, (BAYOR) Busk at Your Own Risk.

 

The keg – closed approximately mid May – mid September

The Info Booth will be reinstalled meaning this location will be temporarily closed to busking for the summer.

 

Triangle square – open to buskers Tuesdays and Thursdays this summer

The farmer’s market and Groundswell will be taking place in Chain and Forge this year meaning buskers have full access to Triangle Square.

*Possibility of busking for some musicians at the Chain on Forge on market days. More details to follow

April Closures

The Public Market Courtyard – work continuing beyond April 12

The Public Market Courtyard may be closed to circle acts for another week whilst maintenance continues. Work may not be finished by the original date expected. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

 

Sunday April 14

The Vancouver Sun Run street closures along 4th and 6th Avenues will restrict access to the island between 8:30am and 12:00pm.

The designated alternate route begins at Columbia Street and 1st Avenue and continues west from 1st Avenue to Lamey’s Mill Road.

Note also that local bus access to Granville Island (via the #50) will be unavailable on the morning of April 14th. The #50 bus will resume service to Granville Island at 2pm and will follow the regular route from downtown Vancouver.

Other options to consider:
• Take a ferry. False Creek Ferries or The Aquabus
• Use the Laurel Street land bridge (from Fairview Slopes across 6th Avenue to Charleson Park) to walk, bike or blade.

There will be a rehearsal and final dance/music performance that will mean closures at different times and places. More information to follow.
